Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month

With grade school and college starting for the new semester, help your kids have a clear and successful school year by providing them with great vision care. Good eyesight is crucial during children's development and its can become very difficult to realize that your children's eyes are not healthy.

Here are some things to consider to ensure the safety of your children's eyes. 

• 1. Schedule Routine Eye Exams: As mentioned, good vision is key to a child’s physical development, success in school, and overall well-being.
• 2. Encourage Healthy Habits: Activities such as reading, writing, or even playing to be done inadequate lighting and getting enough sleep at night at least eight hours to relieve the strain on their eyes.
• 3. Eat Your Vegetables: Lutein and Zeaxanthin are nutrients that play a part in your eye protection and can be found in foods such as kale, collard greens, spinach, brussels sprout, egg yolks, corn, avocado, pistachios, goji berries, orange peppers, kiwi, grapes, orange juice, and zucchini.
